The State of Alabama REAL ESTATE COMMISSION requires: Additionally (to Licensing Requirements and successfully completing the Pre-License course), a SALESPERSON applicant must: Must have held an active real estate salesperson license in any state for at least 24 months of the 36 month period immediately preceeding the date of application. AND . . . . . Pass the examination within the 12 months following the date of completion of the 60 hour prelicense course approved by the Commission.
